The sacai x Nike VaporWaffle “Villain Red” is a one of several debut colorways of the silhouette that incorporates elements of Nike’s modern Vaporfly and retro Air Pegasus '83 runners. The “Villain Red” colorway of the avant-garde styled VaporWaffle follows the order of sacai’s design preference of doing everything in “twos” with its collections with Nike. Like sacai and Nike’s LDWaffle model from 2019, the VaporWaffle has two Swooshes on either side of the mesh mid-panel—one on black leather and one in light blue paint slightly below it. Neptune Green suede overlays around the eyelets and on the laces contrasts the Villain Red hue of the hairy suede toe overlay. The same shade of red appears on the leather detailing on the back of the shoe beneath the black leather heel tab with dual green sacai and Nike branding. Layered white mesh and tan nylon tongues can be found beneath the black and green laces. The stacked midsole splits at the heel in a shape reminiscent of the Vaporfly to complete the bold and unique look. Release date: December 17, 2020.
